This module is designed to be used both by a presenter using a touch display, or as an e-learning module.

Presentation with group discussion is the recommended delivery method for this module to support learning retention.

Presenter notes:

  • Silence voiceover.

  • Explain what teachers will be documenting their SMART goal for (performance review).

  • Introduce each slide, describing what the corresponding letter in the SMART acronym stands for.

    • Ask for examples from the group.

  • Review examples as a group, then separate learners into groups or partners to each write a SMART goal together.

    • Share out. Other teams show thumbs up/down to answer: is it a SMART goal? (check for understanding)

  • Have learner groups deliberate together on the correct quiz answer for 1 minute, then select the answer.

Follow up: Share learning module out to staff as a tool to refer back to as they create their own SMART goals.
